Based on the beautiful Sunshine Coast in Queensland, Drifters Campervans began in 2017, inspired by the vanlife adventures of our founders Erin and James. With custom-designed interiors and everything included at no extra cost, our luxury campervans allow you to travel in style wherever the adventure takes you.
We have road-tested our vans – literally – and thought hard about what you need to have the best trip. From the cushions to the camping chairs, everything is hand-picked and sourced from quality (mostly local) suppliers making them unique, comfortable and practical spaces. We’ve welcomed over 450 hires (up to March 2024) and welcome you to drift with us!

Our little van Huey was absolutely amazing! It was clean, organised, and had everything we could have needed! The van felt like home for the short amount of time we had in it. We only had to fill up once over the 5 days and it drove smoothly and comfortably. We couldn't recommend Huey, Erin and James enough.

We had a great 7 days away with Hendrix and couldn't be happier. Everything worked as expected. The van is easy to drive, economical on fuel and very comfortable. Erin and James have thought of everything (including a hammock), and communication throughout the entire experience was great. We highly recommend a trip away with Hendrix.

Is there a minimum hire period?
The minimum hire period is three days (two nights).
Where do I collect the campervan and what are the pick up and drop off times?
The pick-up location is Coolum Beach on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland. It’s about 10 minutes from Sunshine Coast Airport and a great central spot for exploring South-East Queensland.
Pick-up is anytime from 9am on the first day of the hire. Drop-off is anytime before 5pm on the last day of the hire. These times are flexible so please ask if you would like something different.
Can I do a one-way trip and drop the campervan off somewhere else?
No, sorry. At this time we don’t have the capacity for one-way trips and the campervans must be returned to Coolum Beach, Sunshine Coast.
Is there power and do I need a powered campsite?
The campervans include a second battery to power everything in the living space – including the fridge, internal lights and power sockets. They are fully self-sufficient so you can enjoy living off-grid during your trip.
